As 2018 is coming to an end, we're able to reflect on this year's most popular engagement ring styles. While a round-cut solitaire is always the number one shape and style, we like to look at the remaining top styles to better gauge interests and trends. Whether choosing a ring from our collections or customizing a unique piece, here are the top styles we've seen.
A fancy shaped stone is essentially a shape other than round: oval, pear, emerald, cushion, and marquise are most common. Typically, rounds account for about 70% of worldwide diamonds, and that's exactly what happened this year at Soha Diamond Co.! Fancy shapes accounted for about a third of all engagement rings, with emerald-cut being the most popular fancy shape. Oval-shaped was the most requested, which shows us that there is a ton of interest in gathering more information about this shape. Perhaps 2019 will be the year of the ovals...
