As 2018 is coming to an end, we're able to reflect on this year's most popular engagement ring styles. While a round-cut solitaire is always the number one shape and style, we like to look at the remaining top styles to better gauge interests and trends. Whether choosing a ring from our collections or customizing a unique piece, here are the top styles we've seen.

Fancy Shapes

A fancy shaped stone is essentially a shape other than round: oval, pear, emerald, cushion, and marquise are most common. Typically, rounds account for about 70% of worldwide diamonds, and that's exactly what happened this year at Soha Diamond Co.! Fancy shapes accounted for about a third of all engagement rings, with emerald-cut being the most popular fancy shape. Oval-shaped was the most requested, which shows us that there is a ton of interest in gathering more information about this shape. Perhaps 2019 will be the year of the ovals...

Halo

Halo engagement rings have been one of the top styles for years, however, brides are choosing to switch it up a little and feature a fancy shape surrounded by a halo, or feature a more art-deco style halo with small baguettes or marquise shaped stones as part of the halo.
