Do-It-Yourself jewelry cleaning is an easy and affordable (and necessary!) thing to do. Over time, your ring will get dingy because of oils, lotions and other products that come in contact with it. While you can send your ring in for a professional cleaning, many times you can shine it up beautifully right in the comfort of your own home, with tools you most likely already have. Let's start with the basics, which includes water and a mild dish soap. Take a small dish, like the one pictured above, and fill it with warm water. Add a small amount of a mild dish soap, and soak the ring for 15-30 minutes. Then, take a toothbrush with very soft bristles, and gently rub it over the ring to clean out all of the places where dirt may be hiding. Finally, rinse it in either another bowl full of plain warm water, or plug a sink drain and rinse with warm water. Let dry.

Then, rinse in warm water and let dry fully.
